Terms of sale

1. General provisions

These Terms of Sale (the “Terms”) govern the contractual relationship between Mellra (“we”, “our” or “the Company”) and you, the customer (“you” or “the Customer”), in relation to every order placed on our website mellra.com.

By placing an order on our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We recommend that you read them carefully before purchasing. These Terms apply exclusively; any conflicting or supplementary terms of the Customer are excluded unless we have expressly agreed to them in writing.

3. Products and pricing

Mellra curates single-origin honeys, rare-blossom jars, slow-fermented mead, raw propolis, fresh bee pollen and starter hive kits. Each jar carries the hive number, the apiary village and the harvest week. Prices are stated in euros, inclusive of VAT where applicable, and exclude shipping. We reserve the right to update prices at any time; the price applicable to an order is the price displayed at the time the order is placed.

4. Order process

An order is formed in four steps: selection of the products, validation of the basket, entry of shipping and billing details, payment. An order is firm once payment has been received. We send a confirmation by email; this confirmation constitutes acceptance of the order on our part.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of stockout, manifest pricing error, payment dispute, or suspected fraud.

5. Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. All payments are processed over SSL and your card details are never stored on our servers. The order is dispatched once payment has been confirmed by the processor.

6. Shipping

Honey and propolis jars ship from Forcalquier within 2 to 4 working days. Mead is shipped together with your honey order, in temperature-controlled packaging. France: 2 to 4 working days. EU: 4 to 7. United Kingdom, Switzerland, USA, Canada: 5 to 12 working days. Customs duties may apply outside the EU. Free shipping over €60 in the EU.

7. Right of withdrawal

You have 14 days from the date of receipt to withdraw, on any unopened jar in its original condition. Opened jars and customised orders (gift sets engraved with a name) are not eligible for the right of withdrawal unless the product itself is defective. Return shipping is at your expense; the refund is issued within 14 days of receipt of the returned items.

8. Statutory guarantee of conformity

All our products carry the 24-month statutory guarantee of conformity provided by French and EU consumer law (Articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). If a jar reaches you broken, leaking, off-aromas or otherwise non-conforming, we replace or refund it at no charge — write to us with a photograph at contact@mellra.com.

9. Conservation and use

Honey should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Crystallization is a natural phenomenon and a sign of unheated, raw honey — gently warm the jar in water below 30°C if you prefer a liquid texture. Mead should be stored like a still wine: on its side, in a cool, dark place between 10 and 14°C.

10. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform an obligation if such failure is caused by force majeure as defined under French law (Article 1218 of the Civil Code). In particular, we are not liable for delays caused by exceptional weather events affecting the harvest, by carrier strikes, or by customs delays outside our control.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or an order placed on our website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring proceedings before the courts of his or her place of residence.
